Classes

Judith conducts watercolor classes in florals, still lifes and landscapes for both the beginner and the experienced painter.

Judith delights her audience by creating an environment where everyone can succeed, whether you have been painting for years, or have never picked up a brush before. Her patient and gentle guidance makes it easy for students to learn and have fun as they transform their white paper into an abundance of vivid color.

There is a unique combination of individual instruction, demonstration, and group discussions that add up to equal the perfect equation for a rewarding experience in watercolor painting. Students begin learning by drawing pencil sketches of the props before the washes of color are applied to allow the artist to find their own technique and style.

Learn to capture the irresistible beauty, color, and light of petals and leaves with watercolor washes. Your instructor will guide you through understanding color characteristics, basic shapes and design of flowers, setting up a still life, creating backgrounds, and discovering the joy in painting floral images.

Inlets and Coves Watercolor Workshop

Awaken your senses! Join Judith in the mornings as you paint the beautiful inlets and coves of Kennebunkport and Cape Porpoise. She will demonstrate how to capture the essence of the quintessential Maine vista, focusing on the ever changing light and surrounding details. All levels welcome.

En Plein Air Watercolor

Location: In case of rain, studio space will be provided at the Main Lodge at Hidden Pond or at River Tree Arts.

We will meet Tuesday mornings to paint something different each week. There are numerous choices including beautiful coastal scenes, harbor views, flowering gardens at various inns, antique shops, flower shops, etc.
